For the mehndi and sangeet, a kurta with a waistcoat, or a light-coloured bandhgala. The sherwani is for the baraat and the ceremony, with churidar, safa and mojari. For the reception, a bandhgala in Midnight Barathea, or a tuxedo.
By day, a three-piece suit in navy or grey; a waistcoat or a finer fabric helps the groom stand out. If the invitation says black tie, wear a tuxedo. A shawl collar is softer than a peak lapel.
For the traditional ceremony, the Agbada, in a colour chosen to go with the bride’s. The Nigerian kaftan for the days around it. For the white wedding, a suit or a tuxedo.
Plan every outfit at one appointment, so the colours work together in the photos. Bring samples of the bride’s outfits, and we match the fabric and thread.
