Advice
Hot outside, air-conditioned inside, cool winter evenings. Three things decide how a fabric feels here.
The lower the weight, the lighter the suit. Our fine wools are 240 to 260 g/m; the flannel is 340 g/m. Choose light for every day, and heavier fabric for winter and travel.
Open weaves, such as hopsack and linen, let air through. Tight weaves, such as barathea and fine wool, hold a sharp press and look more formal. Open for the outdoors by day; tight for meetings and dinners.
One all-season wool suit in navy or charcoal covers most of your diary. Add linen for summer, flannel for winter and travel, and raw silk or barathea for weddings and black tie.
The best test is to feel it yourself. Visit the showroom.
