The details

What makes an agbada

Three layers, made to be worn together.

  1. The robe

    ROBE Wide, flowing

Cut wide and long, to fall in deep folds from the shoulder. The sleeves are folded back over the shoulders.

  2. The embroidery

    EMBROIDERY By hand

Done by hand at the neck and across the chest. We agree the design and thread with you.

  3. The inner set

    SET Tunic, trousers

A long tunic and trousers underneath, in matching or contrasting fabric. Cut close, so the robe falls cleanly over them.

  4. The cap

    CAP Fila

A matching fila cap completes the set. Ask for one at your first visit.

Questions

Questions about the agbada

Is there an agbada tailor in Dubai?

Yes. The Bespoke Corner in Business Bay makes the full agbada: robe, inner tunic and trousers, from a pattern drawn by hand. Fittings in the showroom or at your home or office.

How early should I order an agbada for a wedding?

Allow about 6 to 8 weeks. Give us the date when you book and we will plan the fittings around it.

What fabric is best for an agbada?

Ivory Raw Silk for the grandest days. Midnight Barathea or Chocolate Flannel for a darker, formal set, with more than 3,000 others in the showroom.

Can the robe and the inner set be in different colours?

Yes. Match all three, or pair the robe with a tunic in a contrasting colour. We decide it together at your first visit.
