The details

What makes a three-piece

The waistcoat changes how the whole suit is cut.

  1. The waistcoat front

    FRONT Five or six buttons

Five or six buttons, ending in two points over the waistband. Cut to sit smoothly with the last button open.

  2. The back

    BACK Lined, with strap

Lined, with an adjustable strap at the waist. Light to wear under the jacket.

  3. The opening

    OPENING High V

A high V that shows above the buttoned jacket. Small pockets for a watch, if you like.

  4. The trousers

    TROUSERS High waist, braces

Cut to the natural waist, so no shirt shows between waistcoat and trousers. Made for braces rather than a belt.

Questions

Questions about the three-piece suit

Where can I get a three piece suit made in Dubai?

At The Bespoke Corner in Business Bay. All three pieces come from one pattern drawn by hand, with fittings in the showroom or at your home or office.

Should the bottom button of a waistcoat be left undone?

Yes, by tradition. We cut the front so it sits well that way.

Is a three-piece suit too warm for Dubai?

Not in the right fabric. 15milmil15 Charcoal is light enough for most of the year, and Chocolate Flannel suits winter. At a wedding, the waistcoat also works on its own.

Can the waistcoat be double-breasted?

Yes, or single-breasted with small lapels. Both suit a wedding or a formal evening.
