What to wear

From prayer to evening

  1. Eid morning

Your best clothes, often something new. Cut with room at the seat and knee, so you can bow and sit in comfort.

  2. Gulf dress

The kandura, thobe and dishdasha keep their place, and the bisht its formality. Our kaftan is a different garment, cut closer, for the visits that follow.

  3. Visits and Eid evenings

Long days with family and dinners. Giza Poplin for a crisp look; Sand Linen to stay cool.

  4. South Asian and Nigerian families

A kurta with a waistcoat by day, a bandhgala for the evening. For Sallah, the Nigerian kaftan or the Agbada.

Questions

Eid: common questions

Can I get an Eid outfit tailored in Dubai?

Yes. The Bespoke Corner in Business Bay tailors the kaftan, the Nigerian kaftan, the Agbada and the bandhgala. Book on WhatsApp and tell us which Eid.

Linen or cotton for an Eid kaftan?

Fine cotton is crisper, for the prayer and evening visits. Linen is cooler and softens with wear, but it creases.

Is a tailored kaftan the same as a kandura?

No. The kandura is Emirati national dress, with its own cut. Our kaftan is tailored closer to the body, in linen or fine cotton.
