The area

Two islands, one calendar

Yas and Saadiyat run on an events calendar the rest of the country watches. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix fills Yas Marina Circuit and Etihad Arena in November, and Louvre Abu Dhabi stages its openings across the water. The Saadiyat beach clubs set the dress code in between. Residents of Yas Acres, Hidd Al Saadiyat and the Mamsha Al Saadiyat apartments live minutes from all of it. Invitations arrive often, and black tie is not a once-a-year problem.

We plan around that calendar. A tuxedo for race weekend or a Louvre opening should be measured well before the invitations go out. So we come to your villa or apartment, take measurements in under an hour, and hold the fittings there too. Women order the tuxedo as often as men here, cut from a woman's pattern with satin lapels. Linen suits carry the beach club lunches and boat days between galas.

October and November are the crush, when race weekend and gala season land together. The earlier you book, the calmer the fittings. We group island appointments so neighbours can share a visit day. And if you are in Dubai, the Business Bay showroom holds all 3,000-plus fabrics, including black-tie cloths from Scabal and Loro Piana. Collecting there saves a trip down the E11.

We schedule Yas and Saadiyat visits by appointment, often grouping several homes into one trip along the E11, and evening fittings after work are routine. In the weeks before the Grand Prix, book early; those days fill first.

Questions

Yas Island & Saadiyat: common questions

Can you deliver a tuxedo before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?

Yes, provided we start before the autumn rush. Race weekend concentrates galas, dinners and after-parties into a few November days, and tuxedo orders stack up ahead of it. Book the measuring early, we fit you at home on Yas or Saadiyat, and the finished tuxedo arrives before your first event.

How long does bespoke take for Yas Island and Saadiyat?

Allow about 6 to 8 weeks from the first measuring to collection, with fittings at your home in between. If you are dressing for a dated event, the race, a Louvre Abu Dhabi opening, a wedding at a Saadiyat hotel, give us the date and we plan every visit backwards from it.

Do you do home visits on Saadiyat?

Yes. We bring the fabric books to Hidd Al Saadiyat, Mamsha Al Saadiyat and the Saadiyat Beach villas, as well as across Yas Island. We measure you at home and return there for fittings. There is no charge for the visit with an order.

Do you cut tuxedos for women on Yas and Saadiyat?

Yes, and the women's tuxedo is one of our most-ordered garments for this coast. We draft the pattern for you from scratch rather than resizing a man's block, satin lapels included if you want them. Gala season around the museum and the circuit keeps it in steady demand.
